Guitar Right Hand Technique Tips, Scale & Tremolo

Videos are produced by Russian guitarist, Grigory Goryachev. (now, in Boston, USA)

To improve the right hand technique, we need to pay extra attention to the following key points:

  • a, m, i fingers stroke direction -> down! (not paralleled to the strings)
  • nail & flesh touch a string at the same time
  • to produce sound evenly, always stroke at the same part of your fingers
  • practice a scale as if it’s an arpeggio (don’t use metronome)
  • forward & backward scale practice sequence
  • to play fast scales, eliminate unnecessary movement, improve efficiency
  • co-ordination exercise, use tremolo to practice scale

I always say that, how fast we can play tremolo, how fast we should be able to play scales. One of these video actually demostrate my point.
